Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the steel and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at elevated temperatures.
This alloy maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance under high temperatures, and like many austenitic steels, it also performs well at sub-zero temperatures. Its versatility makes it ideal for diverse applications, from oil refining equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum continuous service temperature in dry air is 850ºC.
AISI 321 is especially suitable for use in temperatures up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling and phase stability, as well as protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
