Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its notable feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the alloy and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures, as well as its oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains both strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Like most austenitic stainless steels, it also preserves its toughness and mechanical strength at sub-zero temperatures. This makes it suitable for a broad range of applications, including oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems. The alloy can withstand dry air temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred choice for applications involving temperatures up to approximately 900°C, offering excellent strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent corrosion in aqueous environments.
