Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant, titanium-stabilized stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. With a titanium content of 0.7%, it offers exceptional resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures as well as strong oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even at high temperatures, and, like other austenitic steels, it also remains tough and strong at sub-zero temperatures. Because of these qualities, it is well-suited for demanding applications such as oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems. The maximum recommended service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred alloy for applications operating up to approximately 900°C, combining high strength, stability under heat, and resistance to scaling, along with protection against subsequent corrosion in aqueous environments.
