Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%), which enhances stability and provides excellent resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures, as well as outstanding oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains its strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures, and—like other austenitic steels—retains toughness and durability at sub-zero temperatures. It is ideal for applications such as oil refinery equipment and automotive exhaust systems. The maximum recommended service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred alloy for use in environments up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, excellent resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
