Grade 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the steel, significantly improving its resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures and increasing oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures, and like other austenitic grades, it retains its toughness in sub-zero conditions. This makes it suitable for a broad range of uses, from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum recommended service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is ideal for applications up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
