Grade 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%), which stabilizes the material, enhances resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures, and improves oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures and also performs reliably at sub-zero temperatures. These properties make it suitable for diverse applications, including oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems. 1.4541 stainless steel can be used in dry air at temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is recommended for applications up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and subsequent resistance to aqueous corrosion.
