Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%), which stabilizes the alloy, enhancing its resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures and improving oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains its strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures and, like other austenitic steels, retains toughness at sub-zero temperatures. It is ideal for use in applications such as oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems. The maximum service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred alloy for use in environments up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and ongoing protection against aqueous corrosion.
