Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main distinguishing feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which enhances stability, prevents carbide precipitation at high temperatures, and provides excellent resistance to oxidation.
This stainless steel maintains its strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures. Like other austenitic grades, it also remains tough at low temperatures, making it suitable for diverse uses – from oil refining equipment to automobile exhaust systems. The maximum operating temperature in dry air is 850ºC.
AISI 321, the equivalent alloy, is ideal for applications exposed to temperatures up to approximately 900ºC. It offers high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and good resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion.
