Superduplex UNS S32760 (F55) combines the desirable aspects of both austenitic and ferritic grades, offering significant lifecycle cost benefits when used in harsh and corrosive conditions. Material 1.4501 has exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, along with high strength combined with weldability.

Stainless steel 1.4501 with excellent corrosion resistance also exhibits good corrosion and mechanical resistance under the most challenging conditions. This superduplex material has very good mechanical properties and is used where high mechanical values are required. Stainless steel grades like 630 (1.4542) can be used when materials with better mechanical properties are desired, but these materials are not sufficient in terms of corrosion resistance.
