Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%), which stabilizes the steel, enhances resistance to high-temperature carbide precipitation, and improves oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures. Like other austenitic steels, it also offers high toughness at low temperatures, making it suitable for applications ranging from oil refining equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum operating temperature in dry air is 850ºC.
AISI 321 is recommended for use at temperatures up to approximately 900°C, combining high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and defense against aqueous corrosion.
