Grade 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which enhances stability and resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures, as well as oxidation resistance.
This alloy maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance under high temperatures, and like other austenitic steels, it remains tough and durable even at low temperatures. These qualities make it suitable for diverse applications, from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum recommended service temperature in dry air is 850ºC.
AISI 321 is ideal for use in environments up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
