Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the steel and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at high temperatures.
This austenitic stainless steel maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures, and also remains tough at sub-zero temperatures. Its versatility makes it suitable for applications ranging from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum operating temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is ideal for use in environments up to approximately 900°C, offering high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent corrosion in aqueous conditions.
