Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the titanium addition (0.7%), which stabilizes the steel and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures, as well as its oxidation resistance.
This grade maintains its strength and corrosion resistance even under high temperatures, and, like other austenitic steels, it also remains tough and strong at low temperatures. This makes it ideal for a broad range of uses, from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The steel can withstand dry air temperatures up to 850ºC.
AISI 321 is especially suitable for applications up to around 900°C, combining high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion.
