Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is an added titanium content (0.7%), which stabilizes the steel and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures, as well as its oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures and retains its toughness even at sub-zero temperatures. It is ideal for a range of applications, such as oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems, and can withstand dry air temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is particularly suited for applications operating at temperatures up to around 900°C, offering high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against corrosion in aqueous environments.
