Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main feature is a titanium content of 0.7%, which stabilizes the steel, providing excellent resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures and strong oxidation resistance.
This steel grade maintains its strength and corrosion resistance even under high heat, and like other austenitic steels, it remains tough and durable at sub-zero temperatures. These properties make it suitable for a broad range of applications, from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. It is heat resistant up to a maximum service temperature of 850°C in dry air.
AISI 321 (1.4541) is particularly recommended for use in temperatures up to approximately 900°C, thanks to its combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and resistance to corrosion in aqueous environments.
