Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the alloy and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation at high temperatures, as well as its oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even at elevated temperatures. Like other austenitic steels, it also retains its durability and toughness at sub-zero temperatures, making it suitable for demanding applications such as oil refinery equipment and vehicle exhaust systems. It can be used in dry air environments at temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is ideal for applications up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
