Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the alloy and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at elevated temperatures.
This grade maintains excellent strength and corrosion resistance, even at high temperatures, and retains its toughness at sub-zero conditions. This makes it ideal for a broad range of applications, from oil refining equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The maximum operating temperature in dry air is 850ºC.
AISI 321, equivalent to 1.4541, is preferred for applications up to around 900ºC where high strength, resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent corrosion in moist environments are essential.
