Grade 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used in various industries. Its key feature is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which stabilizes the alloy and enhances its resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at elevated temperatures.
This stainless steel maintains strong corrosion resistance and mechanical strength at both high and sub-zero temperatures, making it a versatile option for applications such as oil refining equipment and automotive exhaust systems. The maximum recommended service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321, equivalent to 1.4541, is specifically suited for use in environments up to approximately 900°C, offering high strength, excellent resistance to scaling, phase stability, and protection against subsequent aqueous corrosion.
