Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its main property is the addition of 0.7% titanium, which enhances stability and provides excellent resistance to carbide precipitation and oxidation at high temperatures.
This stainless steel grade maintains both strength and corrosion resistance under high heat, and like most austenitic steels, preserves its toughness even at low temperatures. This makes it ideal for a range of uses, from oil refinery equipment to automotive exhaust systems. The alloy can withstand dry air temperatures up to 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred choice for applications up to around 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, scaling resistance, phase stability, and resistance to corrosion in moist environments.
