Material 1.4541 is a heat-resistant stainless steel alloy widely used across various industries. Its key feature is the addition of titanium (0.7%) which provides stabilization, enhancing resistance to carbide precipitation at elevated temperatures and improving oxidation resistance.
This stainless steel retains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even when exposed to high temperatures. Like other austenitic steels, it also maintains strength and toughness at sub-zero temperatures, making it suitable for diverse applications, from oil refining equipment to automotive exhaust systems. Its maximum service temperature in dry air is 850°C.
AISI 321 is the preferred alloy for applications with temperatures up to approximately 900°C, offering a combination of high strength, scale resistance, phase stability, and resistance to subsequent corrosion in aqueous environments.
