This brass round bar, identified by material number 2.0401 (CuZn39Pb3), consists of approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, and the remainder zinc. It is highly suitable for hot forming, and its high strength and hardness are achieved through cold working, though cold forming is limited due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. The material offers excellent machinability and is ideal for both soft and hard soldering. It can be stamped easily and is suitable for mechanical polishing only.
