The brass round bar (material number 2.0401, CuZn39Pb3) consists of approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, and the balance zinc (around 36-40%). This material is easy to hot form, while high hardness and strength are achieved through cold working. However, cold forming is limited due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. Brass round bar is highly machinable and suitable for both soft and hard soldering. It is easy to stamp and can be mechanically polished, but it is not suitable for electrolytic or chemical polishing.
