The brass round bar (material number 2.0401, CuZn39Pb3) consists of approximately 57-59% copper, 36-40% zinc, and 2.5-3.5% lead. It is easily hot formable and achieves high hardness and strength when cold worked, although cold formability is limited due to potential stress corrosion cracking. This brass grade is known for excellent machinability and is suitable for both soft and hard soldering. It is easy to stamp and can be polished mechanically, but not suitable for electrolytic or chemical polishing.
