Brass round bar (material number 2.0401) consists of approximately 57–59% copper, 2.5–3.5% lead, and the remainder is mainly zinc (about 36–40%). This material is easily formable when hot, and its high hardness and strength are achieved through cold forming, though extensive cold working is limited due to potential stress corrosion. Brass round bar is highly machinable and suitable for both soft and hard soldering. It can be mechanically polished and easily stamped, but it is not suitable for electrolytic or chemical polishing.
