The brass round bar, material number 2.0401 (CuZn39Pb3), contains approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, and the balance is zinc (about 36-40%). This alloy is easy to hot-form, while its high hardness and strength are achieved by cold forming—though cold forming is limited due to possible stress corrosion. It offers excellent machinability and is suitable for both soft and hard soldering. Brass round bar CuZn39Pb3 is ideal for stamping and can be polished mechanically but is not suitable for electrolytic or chemical polishing.
