Our brass round bar, material number 2.0401 (CuZn39Pb3), contains approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, with the balance being zinc (about 36-40%). This material is excellent for hot forming and achieves high hardness and strength through cold working, though cold formability is somewhat limited due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. It offers very good machinability and is ideal for both soft and hard soldering. Stamping is easy, and it can be mechanically polished, but not by electrolytic or chemical methods.
