This brass round bar (material number 2.0401) consists of approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, and the balance is zinc (about 36-40%). It is easily hot formable, and its high hardness and strength are achieved through cold forming, although cold formability is somewhat limited due to the risk of stress corrosion. The material is excellent for machining and suitable for both soft and hard soldering. It can be stamped and mechanically polished, but not electrolytically or chemically polished.
