The brass round bar (material number 2.0401, CuZn39Pb3, Ms58) is a high-quality alloy consisting of approximately 57-59% copper, 2.5-3.5% lead, and the remainder zinc, with minor amounts of nickel, iron, tin, aluminum, and other elements. This material is known for its excellent hot formability and very good machinability, making it ideal for both soft and hard soldering. While it achieves high strength and hardness through cold forming, its cold formability is somewhat limited due to susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. Brass round bar is commonly used in the production of fittings, tap handles, screws, nuts, valve bodies, cable clamps, parts for electrical engineering, general mechanical engineering, and ballpoint pen tips. It is easy to stamp and suitable for mechanical polishing, though not for electrolytic or chemical polishing. Please note, the ends of sawn bars may be sharp or not deburred, and may look different from the product photos, which show bars at production length. Length tolerance is +/- 2mm. Brass round bars are in stock and ready for shipment within 2-3 working days; delivery times depend on the parcel service. Due to its lead content, weldability is limited: resistance welding is recommended while manual arc, gas, TIG, and MIG welding should be avoided. The material offers relatively low corrosion resistance, particularly in contact with water, salt solutions, and organic liquids.
