Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It contains around 1.5% cobalt and 1% manganese, offering excellent mechanical strength across a wide temperature range up to 1050°C. The alloy is highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with good durability against chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to about 500-550°C. 2.4816 also withstands nitriding and carburizing atmospheres and resists stress corrosion cracking. This material is not hardenable by heat treatment.
Evek GmbH is a trusted supplier of Alloy 600, offering quality nickel alloys at competitive prices and delivering worldwide.
Inconel 600 is commonly used in the construction of industrial furnaces, where it is made into furnace housing seals, transport rollers, and muffles. In the chemical industry, 2.4816 is a preferred material for components used in the manufacture of chlorine and fluorine compounds. Other typical applications include:
- Automotive industry (seals, high-temperature sensors)
- Containers for alkaline solution storage
- Reactor construction
- Engine building
Key features of Inconel 600 include:
- Excellent mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures up to 1050°C
- Outstanding heat and corrosion resistance
- Good resistance to chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to 500-550°C
- Effective resistance in nitriding and carburizing environments
- Resistant to stress corrosion cracking
- Not hardenable
