Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It contains around 1.5% cobalt and 1% manganese, offering excellent mechanical strength at both low and high temperatures, up to 1050°C. This material is highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with proven durability against chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to about 500-550°C. Grade 2.4816 also performs well in nitriding and carburizing atmospheres and resists stress corrosion cracking. It is not hardenable by heat treatment.
