Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It contains approximately 1.5% cobalt and 1% manganese. This material stands out for its excellent mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures, up to 1050°C. It also offers outstanding heat and corrosion resistance. Inconel 600 is resistant to chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to around 500-550°C, and it performs well in nitriding and carburizing environments, as well as resisting stress corrosion cracking. Note that this alloy is not hardenable.
