Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It includes about 1.5% cobalt and 1% manganese, delivering excellent mechanical strength at both low and high temperatures up to 1050°C. This alloy stands out for its outstanding heat and corrosion resistance. It maintains good resistance to chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to roughly 500-550°C, and performs well in nitriding and carburizing environments, as well as against stress corrosion cracking. Inconel 600 cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
