Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It contains approximately 1.5% cobalt and 1% manganese, offering excellent mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures up to 1050°C. The alloy stands out for its exceptional heat and corrosion resistance, as well as its ability to withstand chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride up to about 500-550°C. 2.4816 also resists nitriding, carburizing environments, and stress corrosion cracking. The material is not hardenable.
