Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature environments. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing conditions. The material withstands exposure to acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to approximately 500°C). Alloy 600 (2.4816) resists stress corrosion cracking and maintains strong mechanical properties across a broad temperature range, up to a maximum of 1050°C. Its high nickel content makes it stable in reducing atmospheres. Note that 2.4816 is not hardenable.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop offers a wide selection of premium nickel alloys with exceptional customer service.
Thanks to its excellent heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is commonly used in furnace construction for components such as transport rollers and seals. It is also utilized in reactor construction (vessels and steam dryers) and is suitable for tubs and pipes due to its resistance to alkaline solutions. Additional applications for Alloy 600 include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, airbag bursting discs)
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Main features of Inconel® 600:
