Inconel® 600 is a high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and iron. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments, as well as acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids. The material is also resistant to ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride up to about 500°C. Alloy 600 (2.4816) features strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, from very low to high temperatures (up to 1050°C). Its high nickel content provides stability in reducing atmospheres, but this grade cannot be hardened.
If you need Inconel® 600, the Evek GmbH Online Shop offers high-quality nickel alloys and outstanding customer support.
Thanks to its excellent heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction, including for transport rollers and seals. It is also found in reactor construction (for reactor vessels and steam dryers), and, due to its resistance to alkalis, is suitable for making tubs and pipes. Other typical uses include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags)
- Vinyl chloride production (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
