Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. This material offers excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. It withstands various acids, including acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to around 500°C). Alloy 600 is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a broad temperature range (up to 1050°C). The high nickel content ensures stability in reducing conditions, but the alloy cannot be hardened.
The Evek GmbH Online Shop offers Inconel® 600 and other high-quality nickel alloys, supported by excellent customer service.
Due to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction for components like transport rollers and seals. It is also suitable for reactor construction, such as reactor vessels and steam dryers, and is used for tubs and pipes exposed to alkaline solutions. Other typical applications of Alloy 600 include:
- Plant equipment for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine production
- Automotive industry (HT sensors, airbag bursting discs)
- Vinyl chloride production (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Key properties of Inconel® 600:
