Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments, as well as acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids. The material also withstands ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to approximately 500°C), and shows strong resistance against stress corrosion cracking. Alloy 600 (2.4816) maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, up to a maximum of 1050°C. Its high nickel content ensures stability in reducing conditions. Note: 2.4816 is not hardenable.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop is your source for high-quality nickel alloys, backed by excellent customer service.
Due to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction, for example in transport rollers and seals. It is also utilized in reactor construction (reactor vessels, steam dryers) and, thanks to its resistance to alkaline solutions, for tubs and pipes. Additional applications include:
- Components for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine production plants
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, airbag bursting discs)
- Vinyl chloride production (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Key properties of Inconel® 600:
