Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. This material is durable against acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 (2.4816) also stands out for its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a broad temperature range—from very low to high temperatures, up to 1050°C. Its high nickel content ensures stability in reducing conditions, and it cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
When you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides high-quality nickel alloys with excellent customer service.
Thanks to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction, such as for transport rollers and seals. It is also suitable for reactor construction (reactor vessels, steam dryers) and, due to its resistance to alkaline solutions, is used for tubs and pipes. Other typical applications include:
- Plant components for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine production
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags)
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Main properties of Inconel® 600:
