Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It offers excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments, as well as strong resistance to acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, plus ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to around 500°C). Alloy 600 (2.4816) is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, up to 1050°C. Its high nickel content ensures stability in reducing environments, though it cannot be hardened.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides high-quality nickel alloys and outstanding customer support.
Thanks to its exceptional heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction for parts such as transport rollers and seals. It’s also utilized in reactor construction (reactor vessels, steam dryers), and in the production of tubs and pipes due to its resistance to alkaline solutions. Other applications include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags)
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Main features of Inconel® 600:
