Inconel® 600 is a high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and iron. It offers excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. This alloy is resistant to a variety of acids including acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as to ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 stands out for its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains strong mechanical properties across a broad temperature range, from very low to high temperatures (up to 1050°C). With its high nickel content, the alloy is stable in reducing environments and it is not hardenable.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop offers top-quality nickel alloys backed by excellent customer support.
Thanks to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction for components like transport rollers and seals. It’s also suitable for reactor construction (such as reactor vessels and steam dryers) and is used for tubs and pipes due to its resistance to alkaline solutions. Other typical applications of Alloy 600 include:
- Components for the production of chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine;
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags);
- Production of vinyl chloride (reactor vessels, heat exchangers);
- Catalysis generators.
