Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It offers excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing conditions. The material withstands various acids, including acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking. With stable mechanical properties across a wide temperature range (up to 1050°C), this alloy performs well in both low and high temperatures. Its high nickel content ensures stability in reducing environments, and it cannot be hardened.
If you’re looking for Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop offers high-quality nickel alloys and excellent customer service.
Due to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction, including in transport rollers and seals. It is also suitable for reactor construction (such as reactor vessels and steam dryers), and, thanks to its resistance to alkaline solutions, is used for manufacturing tubs and pipes. Other common applications of Alloy 600 include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags)
- Manufacture of vinyl chloride (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Main characteristics of Inconel® 600:
- Excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing media
- High resistance to acids (acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids), ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C)
- Strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking
- Good mechanical properties over a broad temperature range
