Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for use at high temperatures. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. The material withstands acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and has reliable mechanical properties across a broad temperature range, from cryogenic up to 1050°C. Due to its high nickel content, 2.4816 remains stable in reducing atmospheres. This alloy is not hardenable by heat treatment.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides top-quality nickel alloys and outstanding customer service.
Thanks to its high heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is commonly used in furnace construction for components like transport rollers and seals. It's also suitable for reactor building (such as reactor vessels and steam dryers) and for tubs and pipes exposed to alkaline solutions. Other typical applications for Alloy 600 include:
- Components for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine production
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, airbag bursting discs)
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Key characteristics of Inconel® 600:
