Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for use at high temperatures. It offers excellent resistance in nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. The material withstands acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 is also known for its resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a broad temperature range, up to 1050°C. With its high nickel content, this grade remains stable in reducing conditions and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides top-quality nickel alloys and excellent customer support.
Thanks to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is commonly used in furnace construction for components such as transport rollers and seals. It is also suitable for reactor construction (including reactor vessels and steam dryers) and, due to its resistance to alkaline solutions, is ideal for tubs and pipes. Other typical uses for Alloy 600 include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine;
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags);
- Production of vinyl chloride (reactors, heat exchangers);
- Catalysis generators.
Key properties of Inconel® 600 include:
- Excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing media;
- High resistance to various acids, ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C);
- Strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking;
- Reliable mechanical performance across a wide temperature range;
- Stability in reducing environments;
- Non-hardenable by heat treatment.
