Inconel® 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for use at high temperatures. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments. The alloy is highly resistant to acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as to ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 (2.4816) also boasts strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, up to a maximum of 1050°C. Its high nickel content makes it stable even in reducing conditions. Please note, 2.4816 cannot be hardened.
Evek GmbH Online Shop offers Inconel® 600 with premium quality and excellent customer service.
Thanks to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is commonly used in furnace construction for parts like transport rollers and seals. It’s also suitable for reactor construction (including reactor vessels and steam dryers), and its resistance to alkalis makes it ideal for manufacturing tubs and pipes. Other applications include:
- Components for chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine production plants;
- Automotive industry (such as high-temperature sensors and airbag bursting discs);
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels and heat exchangers);
- Catalysis generators.
Main characteristics of Inconel® 600:
