Inconel® 600 is a premium nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high-temperature applications. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing conditions, as well as to a range of acids (acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids), ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). This alloy is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and maintains strong mechanical properties across a broad temperature spectrum, up to 1050°C. Its high nickel content provides stability in reducing environments. Note that Inconel® 600 (2.4816) is not hardenable.
For those in need of Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop offers high-quality nickel alloys and exceptional customer support.
Due to its outstanding heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction for parts like transport rollers and seals. It is also suitable for reactor components such as vessels and steam dryers. The alloy’s resistance to alkaline solutions makes it ideal for tubs and piping. Additional applications include:
- Plant components for manufacturing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, airbag burst discs)
- Production of vinyl chloride (reactors, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
