Inconel® 600 is a high-performance alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and iron, designed to withstand high temperatures. It offers strong resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments, and is durable against acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, as well as ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to about 500°C). Alloy 600 resists stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a broad temperature range, from very low to as high as 1050°C. The high nickel content ensures stability in reducing conditions. Note that 2.4816 cannot be hardened.
If you need Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides premium nickel alloys supported by excellent customer service.
Owing to its excellent heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction, particularly for manufacturing transport rollers and seals. It is also utilized in reactor construction (reactor vessels, steam dryers), and, due to its resistance to alkaline solutions, for tubs and pipes. Additional applications of Alloy 600 include:
- Plant components for producing chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (HT sensors, airbag bursting discs)
- Vinyl chloride manufacturing (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Key properties of Inconel® 600:
