Inconel® 600 is a high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, chromium, and iron. It offers excellent resistance to nitriding, carburizing, and oxidizing environments, as well as acids such as acetic, formic, hydrofluoric, and fatty acids, plus ammonia, chlorine, and hydrogen chloride (up to around 500°C). Alloy 600 (2.4816) is also highly resistant to stress corrosion cracking and maintains good mechanical properties across a wide temperature range, up to 1050°C. Its high nickel content ensures stability in reducing atmospheres. Please note that 2.4816 cannot be hardened.
For those seeking Inconel® 600, Evek GmbH Online Shop provides premium nickel alloys with outstanding customer service.
Thanks to its excellent heat resistance, Inconel® 600 is widely used in furnace construction for transport rollers and seals. It is also utilized in reactor construction (such as reactor vessels and steam dryers) and, due to its resistance to alkaline solutions, is ideal for making tubs and pipes. Other uses of Alloy 600 include:
- Plant components for the production of chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and fluorine
- Automotive industry (high-temperature sensors, bursting discs for airbags)
- Production of vinyl chloride (reaction vessels, heat exchangers)
- Catalysis generators
Main features of Inconel® 600:
