Heat-resistant steel 1.4828 is an austenitic stainless steel alloyed with chromium, nickel, and silicon, offering oxidation resistance in air up to 950°C. The H20N12S2 grade shares a similar composition to X15CrNiSi25-21 (1.4841).
Compared to similar materials, 1.4828 contains relatively lower levels of chromium and nickel, but the silicon and carbon content remains consistent. The choice of this alloy often depends on price and the specific demands of the working environment. 1.4828 can be used at temperatures up to 1100–1150°C.
This material is resistant to nitriding, carbonitriding, carburizing conditions, high-temperature embrittlement, and gases containing nitrogen and oxygen.
