It offers outstanding resistance to various forms of corrosion, including pitting, erosion, crevice, and intergranular corrosion, and does not succumb to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorine. The alloy is highly resistant to mineral acids such as nitric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, and sulfuric acids, as well as to many organic acids and alkalis. It also boasts excellent mechanical properties.
