Inconel® 625 (material number 2.4856) is a low-carbon alloy made of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and niobium. This material is highly resistant to various forms of corrosion, including pitting, erosion, crevice, and intergranular corrosion. It also offers strong resistance to stress corrosion caused by chlorine. Inconel® 625 stands up well against both mineral acids—such as nitric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, and sulfuric acid—and organic acids and alkalis. The alloy also boasts good mechanical properties.
